4WD vehicle is the only access on the roadless island. Sunrover Expeditions will transport you in comfort on a true 4WD experience to Moreton's long deserted beaches, crystal clear surf, freshwater lagoons, rainforests and one of the world's highest stable sand dunes (280 meters) Mt. Tempest.

Moreton Islands ecology is complex and fragile. It supports a number of habitats - beach and dune communities, sedge and paperbark swamps, banksia heathlands, open woodlands and salt marshes which attract over 125 species of birds along with countless species of lizards and small marsupials.

Itinerary

Depart Brisbane to Scarbough Boat Harbour. As you cruise across the rich waters of Moreton Bay, schools of fish, dolphins and a variety of seabirds can be seen and if we are lucky, pilot whales.
Embark at Bulwer on the West Coast and then experience 7km of 4 wheel driving over high oceanic sandhill tracks, arriving at the forests of Honey Eater Lake (Morning Tea). Be dazzled by the flowering Wallum Heath Country and the Eastern Beach - 38km of pristine white quartz sand and deserted beaches. Swim, snorkel or eco-walk before our fresh picnic lunch at exhilarating Blue Lagoon - Our Safari camp site.

The oldest Lighthouse in Queensland graces the top of Cape Moreton. View the Museum, Dolphin, Stingray, Turtle and Sharks below and from June, the spectacle of the Humpback Whale migration.

At Honeymoon Bay - we can surf or relax with Afternoon Tea supplemented by native fruits. On our return explore Bulwer and the shipwrecks before cruising across Moreton Bay into the sunset.
