Proceed down to the Mornington Peninsula, perhaps a stop at Sage's Cottage (a little cottage dating back to the first inhabitants in 1841) for scones and tea. We could stop at Dromana Estate winery for a tasting. Then drive up to Arthur's Seal for a look at the view, both of the City and the Heads. Next we will head for Red Hill and visit another winery before stopping for lunch** at Red Hill Winery Restaurant. This is one of the best on the peninsula and has won several awards. The food is sensational and the views are even better!
After lunch we will head down to Flinders following the coast and then on around the south end of the peninsula to Cape Schank. Cape Schank is the setting of some beautiful coastal vistas. We could have a short walk on the cliff top. Next we will drive to the bay side of the peninsula and drive all the way down to the tip at Sorrento. Sorrento was the first settlement in Victoria in 1803 although the area was then known as 'The Port Phillip region of NSW'. We will have a stroll on the foreshore and in the main street looking at all the marvellous sandstone buildings that date from the time of first settlement.
We will head back along the foreshore and the bay side suburbs to the city or your accommodation. It is about 60 miles to the city from here.
