Fully hosted farmstay beside the grandeur of a noble range of mountains standing proud above the richest wool growing area on earth. See the ancient sandstone escarpments of the Grampians National Park, acclaimed for impressive views, prolific wildlife, rare wildflowers and bushwalking.
We stay on a large working sheep farm where we view working sheep dogs, mustering, learn about wool and wine production and other farm activities and seek large mobs of Eastern-grey kangaroos and the giant, flightless Emu. Guided nature walks venture into the mountains to view spectacular surrounding scenery.

Day 1 - A Working sheep station
Transfer from Melbourne to the sheep farm where we meet our hosts. The afternoon is spent on a tour of the property led by the owner. We see sheep dogs in action, visit the farm vineyard and learn about the wool industry. As evening draws near we we take a walk onto one of the nearby hills to view the surrounding mountains of the Grampians National Park. We often see large mobs of Kangaroos and Emus. A sumptuous dinner with local wines follows in the farm homestead as guests of the owners. Meals included are lunch and dinner.

Day 2 - The Grampians
A day of guided nature walks in the 500 million year old escarpment of the Grampians National Park. Choose from easy strolls through to challenging walks or simply relax at the homestead. The main walk takes us along a section of one of Australia's most famous walking tracks: the Mt William Track.
We can ascend to one of the highest points of the Grampians, the Major Mitchell Plateau (named after one of Australia's famous explorers), or choose to stop at any number of points along the way. The views from the track are tremendous looking east across the vast western plains and west across the peaks of the Grampians.
People in the group who choose not to ascend to the highest point can enjoy the alpine meadows and bushland at many locations on a series of short walks as they await any others who may ascend to the top. The walking varies from easy, to medium to difficult depending on how high you go. Transfer back to Melbourne in the evening.
