Explore the World Heritage wilderness Fraser Island with an experienced guide. Walk through towering rainforest growing in sand, discover huge sandblows moving across the island, swim in beautiful fresh water lakes, wade in fast flowing creeks, drive along the world's most beautiful beach highway and marvel at coloured sand formations.

Day One. From Brisbane your 4WD coach passes through Noosa to Rainbow Beach, via the Noosa River cable ferry, Teewah Beach, the wreck of the Cherry Venture and the Cooloola Coloured Sands or, when the tide is high, through the Cooloola National Park.
After crossing from Inskip Point the first stop on Fraser Island is Central Station, a former logging camp. Stroll through the rainforest beside beautiful Wanggoolba Creek. Then move on to swim in the clear blue waters of Lake McKenzie and soak up the sun on its white sandy beaches. Arrive at Kingfisher Bay Resort to check into the Wilderness Lodge.

Day Two. ***Cruise out to Platypus Bay with a marine ranger to see the humpback whales at play. They stop to rest in the bay on their migration south to the Antarctic. The calm safe waters provide one of the best whale watch areas in the world. You can see whales, often with calves, breaching, fin slapping, doing fluke up dives and spy hopping around the boat. It's a rare and special experience you'll never forget.

After lunch at the resort, explore Lake Wabby, impressive emerald green twin lakes being slowly engulfed by Hammerstone Sandblow.

Day Three. Time to explore and enjoy Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village. Relax by the swimming pools, spa and outdoor bars - or discover the splendour of the garden decks, boardwalks, coffee and speciality shops in this multi award winning eco resort.

For the adventurous - perhaps keep to the nature theme of Kingfisher Bay by exploring the great sandy straight beaches or bushwalking on self-guided tracks to the 'outlook'. Other activities include bird watching, sailing, fishing and canoeing.

Return to Noosa and Brisbane via the Kingfisher Bay Ferry and Hervey Bay. Tides and ferry times permitting.
