Australia is rich in unique, natural wonders ranging from its animal and birdlife through to its scenery and fresh produce. This Banksia Adventure captures all of these finer points of the Australian experience.
This adventure starts in Adelaide where travellers will be picked up by the personal guide for the group. This day is spent traveling to and through the nearby Barossa Valley experiencing what is one of the finest wine-growing regions of the world. This day includes personal winery tours and tastings as well as experiencing some of the fine produce that comes out of the region.

The culture and heritage of the region makes for a fascinating personal experience. At the end of this day of sensory delight, the guide will leave the group at Portee Station, on the banks of the Murray River.

Portee Station offers a unique chance to experience the very best of Outback Australia. Built in 1873 amongst 20,000 hectares of a sheep grazing property, this beautiful Australian Homesteak is the focal point of the working sheep station. Guests enjoy a superb range of Australian cooking accompanied by fine wines from the Barossa.
There is abundant native fauna including kangaroos, emus and hairy-nosed wombats. The adjoining lagoons and billabongs of the River Murray are home to a multitude of birdlife.
Two nights are spent here giving everyone a chance to relax by the Murray, explore the sheep station, go looking for wombats and soak in Australia.
On the morning of the third day, a Banksia Adventures aircraft will arrive at Portee station to transport the travellers to the next destination - the world-famous Kangaroo Island.

The next two days are spent exploring the natural wilderness of the island and visiting the habitats of koalas, kangaroos and the famous seal colonies. You might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the rare Glossy Black Cockatoo.

After two days of exploring the natural wonders of this island - it's wildlife, bird life, sea creatures, and the wilderness, it is time to head back to the mainland. An experience that has been rich in the best that Australia has to offer.
