Departing Cairns City in our luxury 4WD vehicle, climb the picturesque Lake Morris Road stopping enroute to enjoy spectacular views over Cairns and beyond to Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef Arrive at Copperlode Dam and enjoy a "cuppa" with your morning tea beside Lake Morris. Cairns takes most of its fresh water supply from this tranquil mountain lake.
Departing Lake Morris over Copperlode Dani, we enter the pristine rainforest of the Wet Tropics. Such is the beauty and botanical value of this arm it has been listed as a World Heritage site. Your 4WD Safari guide is an expert in the ecology of the rainforest and will explain many of the special features of this unique ecosystem. Enjoy a short walk through enormous strangler figs and towering rainforest giants.
After fording several streams and rivers you leave the rainforest and enter the Eucalypt forest. After your morning 4WD rainforest tour, arrive at Rainforestation Nature Park. Enjoy a tropical barbecue lunch then board an amphibious army duck for a tour of the rainforest. Watch the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers, perform in the rainforest amphitheatre, then join your guide for a Dreamtime Walk where you will learn how to throw a boomerang and spear, and have an insight to Aboriginal culture.
To finish off your visit at Rainforestation, visit the Koala and. Wildlife Park, your Nature Park Guide will tell you the interesting habits and details of Australian Native animals. Even have the opportunity to have a photo cuddling a koala (optional extra).
