We felt in touch with the land and its creatures. It lifted our spirits. We snaked along the ancient river which had carved its way through the wide brown land thousands, maybe millions of years ago.........

Day 1 The Murray Princess departs the historic port settlement of Mannum in South Australia. Tonight enjoy the welcome dinner as we cruise the river under floodlight.

Day 2 Beautiful river passage
Cruise along the river's most spectacular passage, through breathtaking gorges and the big river bends, past Swan Reach to Moorundie.

Day 3 Locks, vineyards & historic ports
The Murray's system of nine locks controls the massive flow of water down-river to the Southern Ocean. Murray Princess passes through Lock 1 before arriving at Morgan, once the greatest river port in South Australia. During the day there are optional tours of Morgan and South Australia's famous Barossa Valley, visiting three prestige vineyards, an historic Australian homestead and Angaston village, or dare yourself and take a camel safari ride.

Day 4 River adventure
Turning down-river, Murray Princess makes a short riverside stop at Golden Crest Gardens. Adventurers can take to the water for an exhilarating speed boat ride through the 'big bends'. Tonight enjoy a campfire and barbecue on the banks of the Murray.

Day 5 Land & people
Start the day with an escorted riverbank walk providing some fascinating insights to the river's flora and fauna. Murray Princess cruises to Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park, one of the most significant Aboriginal archaeological digs in Australia. Tonight celebrate your Murray experience at the Captains Farewell Dinner.

Day 6 Murray Princess returns to Mannum 9.00am.

Departure: Sunday 6.30pm from Mannum. Return Friday 9.00am at Mannum.
