Sydney-Brisbane; Brisbane-Cairns and Sydney-Cairns
Australia's own version of the Orient-Express, this prestigious train is in a class of its own, combining luxury, sophistication and casual elegance reminiscent of the early days of rail travel. The Great South Pacific Express offers a unique travel experience travelling along the east coast of Australia, linking international gateways to the Great Barrier Reef, tropical rainforest, Whitsunday Islands and other exciting holiday destinations along the route.

Accommodation Aboard:

Pullman Compartment:

During the day there are two easy-chairs opposite each other, and at night these are transformed into two made-up beds above each other. This compartment has air-conditioning, lavatory and shower. All d'hote-menu meals are included in the price.

State Compartment :

These compartments have twin beds. There is air-conditioning, a lavatory, shower and washbasin in your compartment. All d'hote-menu meals are included in the price.

Commissioner Suite Compartment:

is an extra spacious compartment with a full size double bed, two large windows and comfortable chairs. There is air-conditioning, a lavatory, shower and washbasin in your compartment. All d'hote-menu meals are included in the price.

Sydney-Brisbane: 4 Days via the Blue Mountains, Canberra and the Hunter Valley
After checking in, your journey starts with a helicopter ride over Sydney Harbour with its beautiful bays and Opera House, then on over the spectacular Blue Mountains National Park with its valleys surrounded by spectacular cliffs - Australia's very own 'Grand Canyon'.
Lunch is served at the Orient-Express hotel 'Lilianfels, Blue Mountains' perched on the very edge of the magnificent Jamison Valley and surrounded by elegant gardens. There is sufficient time to explore this area.
The next day enjoy a guided tour of Canberra, including the historic sheep and cattle property, Lanyon, on the southern outskirts of the city.

On the third day, disembark for a private visit to a Hunter Valley vineyard and cellar. Lunch is enjoyed at a local Restaurant, famous for its award winning cuisine, fine wines and stunning views.
On the fourth day we make our way towards Brisbane. Admire the passing scenery of the New South Wales northern coast with its romantic rivers and lush banana plantations. We arrive in Brisbane during the afternoon.

Brisbane-Cairns: 3 Days via the Great Barrier Reef and Kuranda Rainforest
The first day aboard the Great Southern Pacific Express, will give you the opportunity to enjoy the passing scenery, the services and entertainment that are offered as you journey onto Proserpine to begin your Great Barrier experience.
The following day brings a scenic drive to Shute Harbour, followed by a helicopter transfer to Hardy Reef on the Outer Barrier Reef. From this platform, reserved exclusively for guests of the Orient-Express, you can snorkel, scuba-dive, swim or simply watch the marine life from the special viewing chamber. A barbecue lunch is provided during the visit to the Reef. Re-board early evening.

On the third day after breakfast the train begins its ascent up the scenic MacAlister Range to Kuranda. Upon arrival transfer to the Skyrail for a breathtaking cable-car ride above the rainforest treetops before collecting your baggage at the GSPE Pavilion at the Skyrail Terminal.
